About this tool

Countdown mode lets you set any duration — hours, minutes, and seconds — and counts down to zero with an animated progress ring. Quick presets cover the most common durations. Stopwatch mode counts up from zero, with lap tracking so you can record split times.

Works on any device and any browser. The tab title updates with the current time so you can track it even when The Decider is in the background. A chime sounds when the countdown reaches zero.

Does it work in the background?
Yes — the timer continues running even when you switch to another tab, and the browser tab title updates with the remaining time so you can keep an eye on it without switching back. A sound plays when the countdown reaches zero.
Can I use the stopwatch for lap times?
Yes — in Stopwatch mode, a Lap button appears when the stopwatch is running. Each lap records the total elapsed time and the split time since the previous lap. You can record as many laps as you need.
What are the preset durations for?
The presets cover the most common timer use cases: 1 and 2 minutes for quick tasks, 5 and 10 for short breaks, 25 minutes for a Pomodoro work session, and 30 minutes or 1 hour for longer sessions. You can also set any custom duration using the hour, minute, and second inputs.
