About this tool

Set any start and end date — past or future — and generate a truly random date within that range. Every date in your range has an exactly equal chance of being selected. Use it for challenges, games, trivia, planning, or any time you need fate to pick a date.

Filter to weekdays only, weekends only, or exclude today. Generate up to 10 dates at once. Each result shows the day of the week and how far it is from today. All results stay in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

How far back or forward can I go?
Any range works — from ancient history to the far future. The "All of history" preset covers from 1 January 1000 CE to 31 December 2999. You can type any date directly in the range fields for precise control.
Can I generate multiple dates at once?
Yes — use the + and − buttons next to "Generate" to pick up to 10 dates at once. Each is independently random within your range. All dates are shown in a list below the main result. You can also copy any individual date.
What does the weekday/weekend filter do?
When "Weekdays only" is on, the generator will only pick Monday through Friday. When "Weekends only" is on, it only picks Saturday and Sunday. If your range is very short and the filter rules out all dates in it, the generator will let you know.
What are the quick range presets?
Presets set both date inputs at once for common use cases: "This year" covers January 1 to December 31 of the current year, "Past 10 years" covers a decade back from today, "20th century" covers 1900–1999, and so on. You can adjust either date after choosing a preset.
